Quill.com, a leading business-to-business online and direct marketer of office products, has set a fundraising goal as part of its October “Making a Difference Together” campaign.

For every purchase made by customers using a special offer during the first two weeks of October, Quill.com will donate $5 to City of Hope, a National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center dedicated to research, treatment and education. The company hopes to raise $100,000 for City of Hope’s breast cancer program.

Quill.com also will partner with HP to donate an additional $100,000 – for a total of $200,000 – to City of Hope for research, treatment and education.

Still additional monies will be collected during the month of October and on an ongoing basis via sales of pink products, including a selection of Quill Brand product, pens, calculators, folders, labels and food products like M&M’s. In total, sales of more than 70 items will contribute to this effort.

“Eighty percent of our customers are women – and we are committed to giving them the opportunity to make a difference in the fight against breast cancer every time they purchase office products,” said Mike Patriarca, president of Quill.com. “With the help of our vendor partners, we have already raised more than $108,000 for awareness and research related to this terrible disease that affects one out of every eight women during their lifetimes.”

Since October 2008, Quill.com has supported the effort to find a cure for breast cancer by donating money to City of Hope. Donations have been made quarterly since that time, but a special effort is extended in October while consumer awareness of breast cancer research funding is high.

“Support from partners like Quill.com is vital to making a difference in the lives of patients with cancer,” said Steve Martin, associate vice president, City of Hope. “Thanks to Quill.com’s efforts, we’re able to bring emerging therapies to patients and continue advanced research to find a cure for cancer.

City of Hope’s breast cancer program is dedicated to improving the health of women through innovative research, prevention, screening, diagnosis and treatment. The organization also provides supportive care and long-term follow-up programs to help women and their families manage the process of treatment and recovery.
